East Carolina senior starting offensive lineman Cortez Herrin was arrested late Saturday night with two marijuana charges, Pitt County Court records show.

Herrin, 22, was charged with possession with intent to sell or distribute (felony) and possession of marijuana paraphernalia (misdemeanor). He was booked on a $5,000 secured bond.

The Saluda, S.C., native has been suspended indefinitely as a result of the charges.

Tony Stinnett, MTSU‘s associate athletic communications director, was arrested over the weekend on drug charges.

Stinnett, 52, was arrested Saturday in Woodbury. He faces charges of possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell and drug paraphernalia. He was released on a $6,000 bond, according to the Cannon County Sheriff’s Office.

According to documents on file with Woodbury Police Department, Stinnett had 14.2 grams of marijuana packaged in a zip-close bag inside of a bank bag, which was meant to be delivered.

The circumstances surrounding the arrest were not clear from police documents.

Stinnett is primarily responsible for information regarding MTSU’s women’s basketball program. Employed by the university since 2014, he also assists in communications for the university’s baseball and football programs.

Maurice Washington, Husker running back, cited for possession of drug paraphernalia

Maurice Washington The Fulmer CupHusker running back Maurice Washington was cited by University of Nebraska police on Tuesday morning for possession of drug paraphernalia.

UNLPD said they were called to the University Suites, located at 1780 R Street, early Tuesday morning on a strong smell of marijuana.

The address where the citation took place is also the same address listed for Washington on court documents in another case.

UNLPD said it was Washington’s dorm room officers were called to.

Washington, 19, was cited with possession or use of drug paraphernalia after an officer found a pipe with marijuana residue, but no marijuana was found, police said.

The University of Nebraska Athletic Department released the following statement:

“We are aware of the situation and are addressing it.”

Washington is also currently facing charges out of California under the state’s revenge porn law, as well as possession of child pornography.

Washington is slated to be back in court in California on June 12.
