Cayden Camper, Colorado State football player, arrested on DUI charges

Cayden Camper Fulmer CupCayden Camper, a walk-on kicker on Colorado State’s football team, was arrested for suspicion of drunken driving or driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs early Sunday morning by Fort Collins police.

Camper, 19, was booked into the Larimer County Jail and released on bail Sunday afternoon, according to jail records.

Records show the arrest, for a misdemeanor charge of driving a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, took place at 4524 S. College Ave.

Camper was arrested as the result of “a traffic stop in the area of Harmony (Road) and College (Avenue) at 1:11 a.m.,” Fort Collins police spokesman Dustin Wier said. “Mr. Camper, as a result of that stop, was arrested and transported to the Larimer County Jail for booking.”

The police report on the incident was not yet available, Wier said. The county courts are closed Sundays, so no arrest affidavit was available.

“We are aware of the situation and are currently gathering more information,” CSU athletics department spokesman Kyle Neaves said.

Chaz Ah You, BYU Linebacker, Arrested On Suspicion Of DUI

Chaz Ah You Fulmer CupChaz Ah You, a talented BYU junior linebacker was arrested on Sunday under suspicion of driving under the influence.

Ah You was arrested on Sunday, February 9th in Eagle Mountain along Red Hawk Road and Pony Express Parkway, according to documents filed in Utah County Court. Documents show that Ah You was going 75 miles per hour in a 35 mile per hour zone and was following close to other vehicles while driving.

Records from the police also indicate that during the inventory search of the vehicle two containers of alcohol were found. One container contained a consumable amount and the other one was empty. Due to weather, a field sobriety test was performed at Utah County Jail.

According to court documents, a THC vape pen was also found in Ah You’s vehicle.

Ah You was charged on suspicion of a DUI, reckless driving, unsafe lane travel, speeding, and an open container.

A junior outside linebacker, Ah You is viewed as one of BYU’s top players in a young linebacker unit that made significant strides a season ago.

Malcolm Lee, KU football defensive lineman, arrested for DUI

Malcolm Lee, Kansas defensive lineman, was arrested early Saturday morning by Lawrence police on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, according to logs from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department.

Lee, a sophomore transfer from Iowa Western Community College, was released on bond, the log stated.

“We are aware of the situation and are currently in the process of gathering information,” KU director of football communications Katy Lonergan said Monday afternoon. “We will handle the situation according to our internal policies.”

Lee, a member of the 2019 recruiting class, was ranked a three-star recruit by both Rivals and 247Sports. He played in 12 games for Iowa Western last season, recording 43 total tackles, five sacks and 10 tackles-for-loss.

Lee is expected to compete for snaps right away with KU losing most of its defensive line production from last season. An Omaha, Nebraska native, he chose KU over offers from Iowa, Louisville, Central Florida, FAU and Houston.

Cincinnati Bearcats’ football player Noah Hamlin was arrested Saturday on his birthday in Pittsburgh, according to a police criminal complaint document obtained by The Enquirer.

The redshirt sophomore defensive back was charged with felony fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, misdemeanor driving under the influence and summary offenses including underage drinking, carrying a false identification card and failure to obey traffic control devices.

“We are aware of the alleged incident involving Noah Hamlin and are gathering the appropriate facts,” said a UC spokesperson in a statement. “The student-athlete involved has been suspended indefinitely from all team activities per UC Department of Athletics policy.”

According to the police document, Hamlin, 20, agreed to give officers two alcohol concentration breath samples. The lower of the two samples was .148. In Pennsylvania, anyone under the age of 21 can be found guilty of driving under the influence if their blood alcohol content tests at .02 percent.

Police said they initiated a traffic stop after they observed a vehicle driven by Hamlin stopped in the middle of the road and later run a red light. When police activated emergency equipment, Hamlin stopped at an intersection but drove away when officers stepped out of their vehicle. When Hamlin stopped again, police approached on foot and ordered him out of the vehicle. Police say Hamlin did not comply and reached his hand under the driver seat.

“At this time, I opened the driver’s side door and grabbed the male by his arm pulling him out of the vehicle and detaining him with handcuffs,” the arresting officer wrote.

A female passenger in the car was “extremely intoxicated,” began vomiting and was later transferred by medics to a hospital, according to the report.

Josh Chapman, Alabama football coach arrested for DUI

Josh Chapman, an Alabama football staffer landed in jail Saturday morning after his second DUI in two and a half years.

Josh Chapman was booked into Tuscaloosa County Jail after being arrested by Tuscaloosa police. A defensive lineman from Hoover who played with the Crimson Tide from 2007-11, Chapman has been an assistant strength and conditioning coach with the program since 2016.

Chapman was held in jail on a $1,000 bond after Saturday’s arrest. Further details weren’t immediately available.

The fifth-round draft pick of the Indianapolis Colts in 2012 was also arrested for DUI in Tuscaloosa on Jan. 29, 2017.

Kai Locksley, UTEP quarterback, arrested for making terroristic threat, suspended from team

University of Texas, El Paso has suspended quarterback Kai Locksley after he was arrested for a number of offenses, including gun charges and making terroristic threats.

Locksley was arrested Saturday after being pulled over for driving under the influence, possession of marijuana (less than 2 ounces), unlawful carrying of a weapon and making terroristic threats, according to jail records.

He was released on a total of $2,900 bond for the four offenses.

The senior quarterback, who started eight games for the Miners last season, was immediately suspended by the team.

“We are aware of the charges against Kai Locksley,” UTEP coach Dana Dimel said in a statement. “While the severity of these charges is concerning, it would not be appropriate to determine a course of action until we have all the facts. In the meantime, he has been suspended from the UTEP football team.”

It was unclear what prompted the charge for terroristic threats. ABC News has reached out to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office for further details.

Locksley is also the son of Maryland head coach Mike Locksley, who was just named to lead the program this offseason after serving as offensive coordinator at Alabama.

The 6-foot-4, 215 pound quarterback was expected to be in the discussion at starter for UTEP in 2019. He had three passing touchdowns and six rushing touchdowns last season. He also missing three games due to injury.

Locksley was a star recruit out of high school, eventually committing to Texas. But he admitted to the Des Moines Register in 2017 that off-the-field issues led to his departure from the program.

“Life hits you fast when you’re on your own and things didn’t go my way on the field,” he told the Register. “I didn’t respond in the best manner. I kind of had to fall apart a little to make strides and to grow.”

His older brother, Meiko, was killed in a shooting in 2017 in Maryland.

Robert Lewis, Boise State football player, arrested on DUI charge

BOISE — Boise State defensive back Robert Lewis was arrested early Friday morning and charged with driving under the influence.

According to arrest records on the Ada County Sheriff’s website, Lewis was arrested by Boise Police and booked into the Ada County Jail at 3:25 a.m.

Lewis, 22, is a backup cornerback that saw action in 10 games and had two tackles last season as a redshirt sophomore. Boise State released a short statement Friday morning that said, “Boise State is aware of the situation and will handle according to department policy.”

An incident report from Boise Police said officers stopped Lewis after he ran a red light at the intersection of Capital and Bannock at 2:10 a.m. Friday morning. It was at that point they ‘observed an odor of alcohol and other signs of possible impairment.’

According to the report, a breath alcohol test resulted in a .104/.100. The legal limit in Idaho is .08, so Lewis was taken to the Ada County Jail and booked for driving under the influence, a misdemeanor charge.

Boise State is in the middle of spring practices and had practice Friday evening. Lewis, a Los Angeles native, was seen watching practice from outside the fence.

Coach Bryan Harsin is scheduled to meet with the media Saturday evening for a previously scheduled session following a closed scrimmage.

Jace Christmann, Mississippi State kicker, arrested

STARKVILLE, MS – Jace Christmann, Mississippi State kicker, was arrested on Saturday according to the Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Office. Christmann was charged with driving under the influence and failing to dim headlights. He has since bonded out. No further details were immediately available.

MSU athletics released the following statement on Sunday regarding Christmann’s arrest:
“We are aware of the matter involving Jace Christmann, and we are continuing to collect information,” the statement read.

Christmann has been a reliable presence for MSU’s special teams in each of the last two football seasons. The Houston, Texas, native took over starting placekicking duties for the Bulldogs early in his freshman season in 2017 and went on to serve as the primary kicker for the final 11 games of the year. Christmann then reprised his role this past season.

Over the course of his career, the junior-to-be has made 24 of his 30 field goal attempts. He has a career-long kick of 47 yards.
On extra point attempts, Christmann has never missed any of his 83 career tries.

Christmann’s arrest comes just over a week before the Bulldogs are slated to begin spring football. Mississippi State opens up spring practice on March 5.

Rodrick Fisher, WSU football player, arrested on “baby DUI”

Rodrick Fisher, a Washington State University football player, was arrested early Friday morning on what’s commonly called a “baby DUI.” 19 year old wide receiver was arrested by a Whitman County Sheriff’s Deputy shortly after Midnight in Pullman on College Hill. Fisher was arrested for minor operating a motor vehicle after consuming alcohol. The sheriff’s office says that the freshman’s blood alcohol level was just below .08. Fisher was arrested and released on the misdemeanor. The Cougar football program doesn’t comment publicly to criminal allegations against it’s players and deems the incident a team matter.
