Auburn walk-on wide receiver Pace Ozmint was arrested over the weekend for minor in possession of alcohol and giving false identification to a law enforcement officer.

Ozmint, a redshirt-sophomore, was arrested on the 100 block of W Magnolia Avenue in Auburn on Saturday, according to Auburn police logs.

Both charges are misdemeanors in Alabama.

The minor in possession charge carries a fine of no less than $25 and no more than $100 and up to 30 days in jail. False identification carries a fine of no less than $50 or more than $500, can include a jail sentence of up to three months and requires surrendering one’s license for at least three months and no more than six months.

Typically, first-time offenders under 21 years of age receive youthful offender status and pay a fine and court costs.

Matthew Wilcox, Bowling Green football player charged with DUI

The Fulmer Cup Matthew WilcoxBowling Green State University football player Matthew Wilcox was charged with operating a vehicle impaired early Sunday morning.

Wilcox, a sophomore receiver, already had been suspended indefinitely from the BG football team and has not taken part in spring practices this season.

Wilcox was arrested by Bowling Green city police in the early morning hours Sunday after his vehicle struck a tree. He was charged with operating a vehicle impaired, operating a vehicle without reasonable control, failure to wear a seat belt, and obstructing official business.

A disturbance in front of a Lubbock nightclub left four Texas Tech football players jailed Sunday morning, including quarterback Jett Duffey from Mansfield Lake Ridge High School, Lubbock police said Sunday.

Six other people were taken into custody in the incident, which occurred shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday at Bash Riprock’s.

Tech receiver Desmon Smith, 20, was bitten by a K-9 during the disturbance, Lubbock police said, and he was taken to a local hospital where he was treated, released and arrested.

Lubbock police responded to a report of a disturbance where a suspect could be armed, Lubbock police spokeswoman Kasie Whitley said in an email later Sunday.

Chase Harrell arrested on suspicion of DUI in Lawrence

Kansas Jayhawks football receiver Chase Harrell was arrested early Sunday morning by Lawrence police on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to logs from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department.

Harrell, who was fifth with 221 receiving yards and second with three receiving touchdowns for the Jayhawks last season, was released on bond, the log stated. He is scheduled to appear in Lawrence Municipal Court on March 28, according to the court, and had a previous municipal court warrant for failure to appear on a no insurance/no valid driver’s license charge issued Oct. 29.

When contacted by The Star, the KU football program said it was “aware of the situation. We are currently still collecting all the details. When that process is completed, we will have further comment.”

USC Former 5-star WR, Joseph Lewis arrested; suspended from team

A LAPD spokesperson stated that Lewis was booked on a 273.5 (a) PC charge, which is defined as “corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant.” A corporal injury is defined as a domestic battery that leaves a “visible” injury on the victim. The charge is listed as a felony on the arrest record and carries up to four years in prison if convicted.

A USC spokesperson issued this statement after USCFootball.com reached out for a response to Lewis’ arrest:

“USC takes all reports of domestic abuse seriously and is cooperating fully with the law enforcement investigation. While this student code of conduct issue is being investigated, the student has been suspended from all football-related activities. Student disciplinary records and student conduct proceedings are confidential at USC and protected by law.”

Now, he’s accused of rape and is the only one the 15-year-old victim could identify, telling police the man who raped her had a football scholarship to college.

“I had no idea of any of it, neither did he. Not until December,” said Shileta Bailey.

Her son, 19-year-old Dacoven Bailey, is just one of the men accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl in July at a party in Pilot Point.

Jante Boston, a member of the Idaho football team, was arrested for a DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia and open container around 3 a.m. Monday, according to the Idaho repository.

Boston, 20-year-old wide receiver, was taken into custody on suspicion of drunk driving, said Lieutenant Brannon Jordan of Latah County Sheriff Office.

Boston pleaded not guilty to three misdemeanor charges and is set to appear in court Feb. 6, according to the Idaho Repository.

“Jante’s behavior is inexcusable and disappointing,” Idaho head coach Paul Petrino said in a statement. “As a team, we discuss the dangers and ramifications of drinking and driving on a regular basis. Jante will face severe consequences both legally and internally and has cost himself the opportunity to play a full season.”

USF freshman WR Kevaughn Dingle was arrested by campus police late Friday morning on a felony sexual-battery charge.

An 18-year-old from Miami being redshirted this season, Dingle remains in jail on no bond, according to Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office records.

A USF Police Department release indicates that around 1 a.m. Friday, campus police received a call of a possible sexual battery occurring at the Holly C Residence Hall. The incident reportedly occurred at noon on Thursday, the release says.
